This Privacy Policy describes how Game Changers Northwest ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Game Changers Northwest mobile and web application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. About This App

The Game Changers Northwest App is a community management and communication tool for members of Game Changers Northwest, available as a mobile app and through a web browser. It includes features such as group management, internal messaging, announcements, team document sharing, an events calendar, in-app event tickets with QR check-in, a church finder, and links to our website for event registration, donations, and merchandise.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Full name and email address when creating an account
  • Phone number, if you voluntarily provide it when creating a group or adding it to your profile — this is completely optional and never required
  • Profile information you choose to add
  • Messages and content you send within the App
  • Files, documents, and images you upload (for example, team documents), and any annotations you make on them
  • Group memberships and activity within the App, such as event RSVPs

Event Tickets

  • When you purchase a ticket on our website, we sync your order details (your name, email, order number, event, and ticket type) into the App so your tickets appear in your account
  • Payment details are never collected or stored by the App — those are handled entirely on our website (see Section 7)

Camera

  • If you are an event volunteer or administrator, the App uses your device camera to scan ticket QR codes at event check-in
  • The camera is used only while actively scanning; we do not record, save, or transmit any images or video
  • You can decline the camera permission and still check attendees in using the manual search option

Information from Third-Party Login

  • If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from those services
  • We do not receive your Apple or Google passwords

Location Information

  • When you use the "Find a Church" feature, the App requests your device location to show churches near you
  • Location is requested only at the moment you use that feature — we do not track your location in the background
  • We do not store your location on our servers; your coordinates are sent to Google's Places service to return nearby results, and are used only for that purpose
  • You can decline the location permission, or change it later in your device settings; the rest of the App works normally without it

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device type and operating system version
  • App usage data (features used, frequency of use)
  • Push notification tokens for delivering notifications to your device

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the App and its features
  • Enable messaging and communication between members
  • Manage group memberships and organizational features
  • Show you churches near you when you use the church finder
  • Display the event tickets you purchased and allow authorized staff to check attendees in at events
  • Send push notifications about messages, group updates, and announcements
  • Allow other group members to contact you if you have chosen to share your phone number
  • Improve the App and fix technical issues
  • Respond to your questions or support requests

We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties. We do NOT use your information for advertising purposes.

Please note that if you choose to add your phone number to your profile or group, it will be visible to other members within that group. You can remove your phone number from your profile at any time through the App settings.

4. Messaging and User-Generated Content

The App allows members to send messages to each other, within groups, and on team message boards, and to upload files and documents. Please be aware of the following:

  • Messages, uploaded files, and content sent within the App are stored on our servers hosted by Supabase
  • Messages and content are visible to other members within the same group, conversation, or team
  • App administrators have the ability to view and delete inappropriate content
  • We do not routinely read private messages but may do so to investigate reported violations
  • Message and content history is retained while your account is active
  • Upon account deletion, your messages and uploaded content will be removed within 30 days

To maintain a safe community environment, users have the ability to:

  • Report offensive or inappropriate content
  • Block other users
  • Contact an administrator to request content removal

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider. You can review Supabase's privacy practices at https://supabase.com/privacy.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:

  • All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/SSL connections
  • Access to user data is restricted to authorized administrators only
  • We regularly review our security practices

Please note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services that may collect or process your information:

7. External Links and Purchases

The App contains links to our website at https://www.gamechangersnorthwest.org for event registration, ticket purchases, donations, merchandise, and other resources. Event registration, ticket purchases, donations, and merchandise are handled on our website and its store — any payment information you provide there is processed by our website's payment provider and is not collected or stored by the App. When you leave the App and visit our website or any external site, those sites have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.

8. Push Notifications

The App may send push notifications to your device, including:

  • New messages from other members
  • Group updates and announcements
  • Important organizational information

You can control push notifications at any time through your device's Settings app. Disabling notifications does not affect your ability to use the App. (Push notifications are available on the mobile app; they may not be available in the web browser version.)

9. Age Requirements

The Game Changers Northwest App is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. By creating an account and using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old.

Parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring their minor child's use of the App. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that account and associated data. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at privacy@gamechangersnorthwest.org.

10. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and personal data
  • Opt out of push notifications at any time

You can delete your account and associated data at any time directly within the App (Profile → Delete Account). You may also request account deletion or a copy of your data by contacting us at privacy@gamechangersnorthwest.org. We will process your request within 30 days. Please note that some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We will notify users of significant changes through an in-app notice or email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
